Dramatherapy as aftercare for coercive measures
Text
This bachelor’s thesis examines various dramatherapy approaches for dealing with the experience of coercive measures in psychiatry. The experience of coercive measures can lead to serious psychological stress and even traumatization, as well as having a negative impact on the therapeutic relationship and the course of therapy. Aftercare is therefore strongly recommended. In this thesis, a dramatherapy concept is developed that is based on the dramatherapy approaches of Developmental Transformation (DvT), trauma-sensitive dramatherapy and the Theater of the Oppressed. Among other things, the aim is to process experiences of powerlessness, promote self-efficacy and create positive relationship experiences. The results of the work show that dramatherapy methods are a valuable addition to the processing of coercive measures and could usefully expand existing psychotherapeutic procedures. The concept developed also opens up new research approaches in an area of dramatherapy that has hardly been explored to date.
